Who are we?
Sarah is a writer and editor on the East Coast (after much time spent as a grad student), and Phoebe is a graduate student in English at the University of Oregon. We are both devoted viewers of Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, and Pretty Little Liars. What can we say? Teen soaps speak to our souls. We are also both avid wine drinkers and pop culture aficionados. Phoebe has a spell-check in her head.
What is this?
A blog, silly.
No really, what is this?
This is a blog where women write about media and popular culture, although we happily welcome anybody interested in writing about those subjects. As a collaborative community, Girls Like Giants highlights and values women’s perspectives. It’s a space that invites people to discuss things they love and care about and the issues that matter to them.
Why do girls like giants?
We’ve been told it’s so by Kimya Dawson:
“I like giants, especially girl giants
Because all girls feel too big sometimes
Regardless of their size.”

One last note: As a community blog, Girls Like Giants strives to offer a diverse array of opinions and perspectives. The arguments presented in individual articles are not necessarily shared by all members of GLG. We value thoughtful debate, discussion, and dissent — especially when expressed through the sweeping power of modern dance. Comments are good too, though.
